Nicola Who?

Nicola specializes in helping business leaders build a scaleable and profitable Sales Engine for their company.
She is invited to speak internationally and has published two international bestsellers, which have been translated into 16 languages and her hotly anticipated third book is due out later this year. Nicola is the preferred sales speaker for a number of organisations including, Vistage, WeConnect, Prelude Group, and Smith & Williamson.
In March 2019 Nicola was the recipient of two Vistage speaker awards. Best Newcomer, in recognition of a consultant who has delivered the most valuable content in their first 12months as an approved Vistage speaker, and the Vistage Outperformer award, which is given to those whose workshops receive average scores of over 90%.
In addition to her speaking credentials, two of Nicola’s VIP clients have completed successful exits in the past twelve months and she herself is a keen investor in scale-up businesses with strong ESG credentials. On average her VIP clients record a 140% increase in Net Profit thirty-six months after engagement.
Nicola is a past winner at the North-East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2012 and in 2017 she was added to the Smith & Williamson Power 100, which recognizes the top 100 individuals that help shape policy, champion and mentor entrepreneurs in the UK. She has guest lectured at Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle Business School, Durham University Business School and Sunderland University and her firm Company Shortcuts was a finalist in two categories at the prestigious BESMA (British Excellence in Sales & Marketing Awards) in 2016, making the finals in the ‘Best sales trainer in the UK’ category, and ‘Best Training Centre’.
Nicola’s charitable fund The Aurora Foundation is managed by County Durham Community Foundation and she donates a chunk of her time working and inspiring school children through the ‘Speakers for Schools’ charity, for which she received the Worshipful Company of Educators’ Mary Lou Carrington Award in 2020.

Nicola donates a number of days per year to work with www.speakers4schools.org where she delivers this inspiring and uplifting keynote to young people at their school.
Nicola is able to share her experience of growing up in a North East steel town where ‘The Company’ closed in 1980, at the same time the region was decimated by the simultaneous loss of coal mining and ship building, plunging the area into abject poverty but more sadly wiping away all hopes and aspirations of a generation.
Her story of how, from an early age, she decided not to be limited by or defined by the lack of opportunities or self-limiting mindsets of many of her peers is an important message that Nicola is passionate about sharing with young people as they themselves begin to make decisions in their own lives.
